The Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad is a premier tertiary care referral centre and teaching institute, in the state of Telangana. It is an autonomous institute and university established under the State Act. It is a 1500-bedded hospital with 34 departments including 18 Super-specialty departments. It has state-of-the art patient care facilities available for the diagnosis and management of patients. NIMS is one of the five NIDAN Kendras established under the 1st phase of the DBT-UMMID initiative. Along with CDFD, NIMS has been designated as one of the Centers of Excellence for Rare Diseases by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.
