The key activities of the center include running a genetic OPD, offering pretest and posttest counseling services regarding recurrence risk of genetic disorders and availability of prenatal diagnosis. The diagnostic algorithm used is based on a unique combination of clinical and laboratory (Cytogenetic, Biochemical, Molecular) methods. The research at the center is aimed at unraveling the molecular basis behind some of these genetic disorders and to minimize the occurrence of these disorders in the community.
